events, including swimming lessons, softball games and water-skiing
shows.

General
Membership Meeting -
June 14th
Come and bring a friend or neighbor. Invite
a new homeowner. Meet the board, express your views. Find out
more about our summer plans and our hopes for the future.
Beach
Party (Bring a Dish) - July
26th
Traditionally our Volunteers Thank You Party, this year we move
it back on to the west beach where it all started 12 years ago.
Starting at 4 p.m. on July 28, we will celebrate the efforts of
all who have volunteered to make this organization viable for
so many years. Our bring-a-dish format provides plenty of variety
of delicious foods and deserts for everyone to enjoy. The SBPOA
provides the beer and soda. Hope to see you there, the more the
merrier.

Trash
and Treasure Sale
- June
7th & 8th
10am-4pm.
This is a great opportunity to purchase preowned items donated by the
generous members in our community. You never know what nice surprises
will turn up. Donations of sale items can be brought to the Clubhouse
on Friday June 1st from 10am - 4pm. Call Eileen 744-6487 or Audrey 821-4103.

Beach Days - June
14th & 15th
Calling all friends and neighbors!
During this weekend, friends and neighbors are welcome to enjoy our
beautiful beaches in the pleasant late June sun. No tags required, just
come down and enjoy yourself. Spread the word to family, friends
neighbors and new residents!
Clam-B-Que
- July
19, 6pm
At the Clubhouse. A wonderful tradition
for over a decade where everyone eats, drinks, laughs, and dances. Many
folks return to Sound Beach just for this event, so you are sure to
run into an old buddy, or make a new one! This is a great opportunity
for new residents to meet their neighbors. Guests typically range from
infants to octogenarians. Don't miss this great spirit-building event!
Field
Day -
August 2,
Noon
Games, Races, Raffles, Refreshments!
A whole day of shoreside fun for kids (and gown ups too) in the summer
sun! Admission to this fun-filled event is complimentary to all members.

Report to Membership, Board Member Elections, Member
Feedback
This
is our important administrative event, held at the Malba Drive Clubhouse,
where we report to the membership the status of our organization and
our Board Members are elected. All members are strongly encouraged to
attend, participate, ask questions and to be a part of the decision
making process. This is the best opportunity to get involved, present
your ideas, and really make a difference in the organization and in
our community.
Worldwide Beach Clean-Up-Day - September
13th, Low Tide
2007 will be the eleventh year that
we participate in the American Littoral Society's Beach Cleanup. All
along the eastern seaboard, volunteers pickup rubble and trash, and
the ALS documents and evaluates the kind of debris collected. The statistics
are used to raise public awareness and to convince lawmakers of legislation
to protect the environment. The amount of trash is overwhelming, and
it feels good to be part of a solution. A September day on the beach
is heavenly anyway, so please make time to participate! Until then,
please continue to bring a bag to the beach and try to take more up
than the steps bring you down.
Halloween
Party -
October 25, 5pm
Our spooktacular costume party held at the Clubhouse - DJ, dinner, dancing,
contests - a great time for everyone!
Children's
Christmas Party - December 14th
We
are privileged to be on Santa's pre-Christmas tour through the Sound
Beach area. Santa will stop by the SBPOA clubhouse on Sunday December
9th to visit with us during our Children's Christmas Party and to distribute
gifts to our children. The children will be doing small craft projects,
and enjoying cookies and drinks while they anxiously await Santa's arrival.
